E-P3 firmware update

Firmware update now available for the slightly erratic, touch screen sensitive operation when using with the VF-2.
After a quick try, it seems to work well, the magnify and info buttons also seem much more consistent - they had been driving me nuts.

But, please Olympus, refine the update process so it's not always such a heart-in-mouth process - it's not something most of us do often and the lack of any reassuring messages on the screen to start with and the fear of bricking a camera (as others have clearly done) is always there till the magic letters 'OK' appear. I never dare update unless I have stacks of time before needing the camera next.

Doug

Re: E-P3 firmware update

I have updated Oly firmware dozens of times without issues and depending on the update it can be very quick.

Re: E-P3 firmware update

Agreed, it can be quick at times - but I have also known it seem to take ages and that's when the worry starts. Your experience clearly gives you confidence - but for those of us who don't often do it, we do so with the woeful tales of others who have had problems (albeit often of their own making!) never far from our minds. Can't remember how I updated my other cameras in the past, but I don't remember the uneasy feelings.
Looks like the rain is going away - now out to test the firmware properly!
