Now that's probably the only shot you've posted that I don't like Shirley. Not sure why I just don't sorry. Maybe there is too much confusion about the intended subject? or maybe I'm just wrong

Re: More landscape help please!!

Now you are really getting creative, Shirley, and it won't be everyone's cup of tea!

However I like it for the muted colours and the boldness of the foreground spikey plants challenging the rocky hill beyond for attention, rather than complimenting it. Everything is rough and jagged in this scene, with no smooth lines and gentle curves to sooth the eye. It has a tension that I like in landscapes and that in turn contradicts the square crop, which normally encourages a tranquil and restful mood.

I said it won't be everyone's cup of tea! No, you're not wrong, Phill; beauty is in the eye of the beholder and you are entitled to call it as you see it.

Not my cup of marmite. The stalks of the Teasels (?) need to be more clearly defined, in my onion.

Re: More landscape help please!!

Stephen they are not teasel that appears to be a desert.

I think Stephen has a point about the plants for me they are blocking the view but if they were emphasized better maybe with more in view at the bottom of the shot they could be the subject.
These are of course just my ramblings.

I do like the tones in this though.
