Looking for improvement This is the e-group critique board. If you post a picture here it will be assumed that you are looking for comprehensive technical feedback - both good and bad, but always respectful. Only post pictures here if you can deal with potentially negative constructive criticism. Anyone is qualified to comment and post feedback, and everyone is encouraged to do so. NB: "Looking for Improvement" is the place to post any pictures you would like advice on improving, no matter how bad you might think they are.

I agree with many of the comments thus far - just generally harsh lighting was used. If this could have been softened up then significant improvements would be made.

Great effort though for your first time.

I had a play with the better of the three images: a slightly more glamour'ed look!

Hi, I used Portrait Professional for some slight adjustments. I find it a great little programme for quick adjustments.

Your images were a good start, so only a few tweaks, specifically taking the shine off the skin.

I really don't like applications like PP at all - they turn faces into mannequins in my opinion. Skilful manual post processing is the way to go if you want my advice.

Another version... again, no Photoshop OR plugin used... just as 99.9% of my images, this is entirely processed in Lightroom. Took more time on this one but still I see some improvements that could be ultimately made. Particularly around the eyes. But... 100% Lightroom. Nothing else.
