FS: HLD-5 for E-620 - Jessops

Hi all you E-620 owners.

Jessops have on their site to-day (Sunday 14th Feb) the offer of the HLD-5 battery grip for an amazing sum of 25.
Ideal for those who may not have access to the current offer.
If you also register your recent purchase of the E-620 you will recieve a spare battery BLS-1.

<http://www.jessops.com/Directory/catalogue.ashx/$s=olympus%20hld-5>

Appears to be an in-store offer only.

Regards
John WB

Re: FS: HLD-5 for E-620 - Jessops

Hi Geoff,

I am not even going to try to 2nd guess what Jessops will do!
The facts as I see then are this item had a list price at Jessops of 224. They have reduced the price by 199 making it 25.

I have ordered one for a store pick-up and applied the JESSOPS5 code at check out which gave me an extra 5% discount. Confirmation of order has been received from the shop at a price of 23.75. I will pick it up on Monday.

I know nothing is certain with Jessops until I pay my monies after sight of the goods, so I am keeping everything crossed for now!

On checking further, Brighton, Kingston, Croydon, Richmond, and Hedge End here in the south all appear to have stock.

Regards
John WB

Thumbs up Re: FS: HLD-5 for E-620 - Jessops

They must have found a few more, I got the last one of the previous batch a couple of weeks ago.
I even received a phone call from them the following day apologising that they were a day late with the dispatches.
Absolutely super service from Jessops with my purchase.

Re: FS: HLD-5 for E-620 - Jessops

The HDL-5 was there waiting for me at the price of 23.75. I was impressed with the service at Guildford, and their new store layout. Unfortunately Olympus was in the rear LH corner, very reduced stock on show. Nikon and Canon were in the main part of the store, in a more central position. So Geoff, maybe they are reducing stock on the brand, with a view to not selling in the future.

Re: FS: HLD-5 for E-620 - Jessops - help!

Alerted to this thread (many thanks) I ordered one yesterday (Monday) and picked it up from Jessops in central Bournemouth this afternoon. It is not something that figured high (or at all) on my wish list but at that price it is nice to have it and it will be come in handy.

But I can't work out how to fit the camera to it, and the instructions aren't exactly helpful, to say the least!

Obviously the "bit sticking up" fits into the camera battery compartment but what about the battery compartment cover? There is a depression on the rear side of said "bit" which looks as if it is the same size and shape as the battery cover which - apparently - can be detached from the camera. But how? The metal piece inside the batter cover (spring?) will slide a few mm - does this somehow allow the cover to be detached? I would be grateful for any enlightenement! I don't want to break anything.

It is suprising that Jessops can offer this item at such an enormous discount. On the other hand it is difficult for me to understand how the list price could have become so high in the first place. Granted, it is nicely and precisely made but it listed at as much as some point-and-shoot cameras, for example. I have been accused by my offspring of living in a 1950's time warp, but I would have thought something like this SHOULD cost around 15 -30 anyway!

Re: FS: HLD-5 for E-620 - Jessops

I was able to order one online and pick up from Jessops in Glasgow this morning. I bought an E600 from PCWorld yesterday and made the assumption it would work on it and it does.
