I rather like the 'Fire Extinguisher' system on some Turkish bogs too.

Comes in handy after a few too many Jalapeno's.

Spare a thought for this alarming (& painful) toilet experience.

Oh I'm going to have to install a straining post in my toilet,
sounds efficient!

I recently fitted a handrail on the wall either side of our loo. The primary purpose is to assist me lower and raise myself, but they are also very useful to grip whilst performing, if you know what I mean!

Re: Ladies and Gents no more. Has the world gone completely mad?

On the news again talking about 'bathrooms' and 'restrooms' - how long before this strange terminology has 'gotten' itself into our language. What's wrong with the well used and understood descriptions such as toilet, wc, latrine, Gents, Ladies, bogs, or s#** houses?

Are those on the other side of the pond somewhat squeamish or something when it comes to the public convenience?

I think it is quite amusing that our American friends seem so demure on this topic when they are so brash and brazen about everything else.

BTW I think the term "latrine" is more accurately used with reference to temporary conveniences, such as the communal slit-trench I once had to use at the overnight camp on the Karrimor Mountain Marathon. It was neither a pleasant nor dignified experience, watching the bare buttocks in front of you defecate whilst you inflicted a similar sight upon the person squatting behind. Thankfully someone broke the tense silence by loudly enquiring, "Do you want a light for that cigar, mate?" The embarrassment of the situation quickly evaporated as everyone burst out laughing.

Correct term is going to the lavatory. (Or the bog)

But it is not just about toilet matters. I notice that nobody dies anymore, people pass.

I wonder how the 'PC Plod Squad' feels about all this PC malarky?

Cue new TV advert... re: the Roly-Poely construction worker / the wiggly bum guy in high-heels or, could this entail a new EU directive??? PC's are now to be called PP's Police Persons.

Well why not, but only if we stay in! That's another reason to vote for Brexit, thank you!

But consider, we have already Post Persons (PPs) this could lead to confusion.

And thinking of post persons, PostPerson Pat could be male or female, so no sexism there.
