What's your favourite Accessory?

It's that time of year when we rack our brains for ideas and suggestions for OUR Christmas prezzies from our nearest and dearest. So, what's your favourite accessory, so that I can start dropping hints?

Here's mine. It's a Rohan Windshadow jacket that's great for early starts in Spring & Autumn. When the temperature rises, it folds up really small goes in the bag and only weighs about 280 gms. Wind & shower proof it's even got a hood that folds into the collar.

David

Re: What's your favourite Accessory?

Probably the OI.Share on the smartphone & tablet.

But I am looking for the ultimate gloves for photography on cold wet days. As the weatherproofing has got better, my weatherproofing has got worse.

Good luck with that, I've been searching for decades.

Re: What's your favourite Accessory?

I got some fishing ones from Aldi last year that had fingers that pulled off to reveal my fingers when I needed to operate buttons. The glove finger ends could be put back to cover afterwards. They seemed like a great idea but I've not used them much since to be honest. Maybe that's just me who can't really be bothered with gloves unless I really have to. If you do try some out be very picky as I got some off the internet as well and they ripped very easily when exposing the fingers. The Aldi ones were reinforced in that area and were much better. Both were waterproof but could have been a bit more insulating though.
EDIT
You got me looking now and I found these. They look warmer than the ones I got.

Don't have any experience with them but it looks like Amateur Photographer has featured some of them.

Re: What's your favourite Accessory?

The problem I have with gloves, is getting them on when my hands are wet - it can be nigh impossible!

I use "Sealskin" waterproof gloves, which are designed for extreme sports, I find it hard to believe they get all that protection in such a light glove.

Sealskinz Ultra Grip Touchscreen Gloves get a mention in the Gear Zone of the latest (Dec '15) Outdoor Photography magazine (sealskinz.com) - they look rather impressive

Cheers,
