Autumn colours and birds - one in haste, one just chillin'

1. At the end of our towpath walk, the late afternoon sun enhanced the autumn colours. Taken a couple of days ago -

2. A flypast by a swan - very much more graceful than on dry land!

3. The ever patient grey heron - happy to spend endless time waiting for the right fish supper!

2 and 3 taken during October.

Regards,
Ann1e

Re: Autumn colours and birds - one in haste, one just chillin'

I am a fan of this time of year - colours being one of them. Enjoy the way nature nurtures the leaves and leaves juicy red berries on some. Light changes rapidly and I seem somehow to forget to change settings - a challenge to get the computer to put it right.

Snow on the hillside, frost on glass and gales blowing - it's what we put up with us togs, young or old.

Now you posted your pix I presume for comments and likes - well I like them and my favourite is the heron - such posers and keen to be photographed - yours is rather nice.

Anne - Autumn, I can't decide whether we are ahead or behind you. I love your tow path walk pictures, and your grey heron too.

Barrie - "Now you posted your pix I presume for comments and likes - well I like them ...."
I endorse you well justified bias!

Thank you for commenting OM - we are very lucky to be just a couple of minutes from the towpath as we can make the most of the time we have available, a short stroll or a 5 mile walk, or anything in between!

Regards,
Ann1e

Thank you, Phill. It is a great area and sometimes we do get a nice peaceful walk, especially if we walk away from the town but we do have a lot of competition from dog walkers and bicycles. More than likely their pet hate is folk like us hanging around waiting for 'the' shot!

Ann1e

I guess we are always ahead and behind each other if you ignore the designation of the year, haha! One thing is for sure, our summer is more fickle than yours. I have to say our towpath walks are enjoyable throughout the year if it is dry so we tend to get out most days.

Thank you for looking in and commenting.

Ann1e

Thanks Ed - we are very happy to be living in a beautiful area but not to be isolated and we are lucky to share a hobby which we both enjoy so much.
