Time well spent

Decided tonight to just do a check if my M4/3 lens were up to date with the latest software, found my 60mm Macro needed updating & 2 of my panasonic lenses, but what did surprise me was my EM5 needed to be updated to V2.1 form V2. I knew the EM1 was up to date.

So a worth while 20 mins spent doing a little house keeping & cleaning lenses before packing away.

When was the last time you checked your sense firmware?

A very good reminder. Who knows what improvements you might be missing?

Re: Time well spent

Just seen 4/3 rds rumors believes 9fps continuous shooting in CAF and improved CAF-T are a couple of the features of the new firmware.

Also they believe it is a full update to V3, not an incremental V2.2 update so may wipe out your settings again.

Re: Time well spent

Just updated my 12-40 to v1.1 I was seeing if the v3 had been released yet for the em1 body,
don't know what the lens update is , possibly it's for the mkll em5?
I'm sure Ross will know...

Why would I know?

The 12-50mm lens is the most recent Olympus lens that has been updated with the following details.
Quote:
Stability of lens aperture when shooting videos has been improved.
I'm not sure how much effect it would have at present, but maybe it will be more stable for the E-M5 II & maybe the coming E-M1 V3.0 firmware as well,.. perhaps (or not).

Anyhow, it's worthwhile checking what all updates are in detail on this page of Olympus Japan, http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/...tware/firm/e1/ by clicking on Click Here for each lens & body in the Description column.

Re: Time well spent

Thanks Ross, l knew I could rely on you.
yes I must have had my head in the sand or somthing and missed the update in December, it sounds like the same vidio aperture fix as for the 12-50.
Thats a handy link you've posted there, thanks again

Re: Time well spent

Great link Ross - noticed that almost everything I had needed updating - my E-M1, 12 -40 2.8 pro and my old 4/3rds 70-300.

Maybe that should be added to it's own post and made a stick for everyone to refer to?
