Olympus Magazine

How many members here subscribe to the Olympus User Magazine ????. I doubt there are many as I am sure more images would have been submitted especially to the competition that runs with every issue. The site does not get much use and not a lot of members there comment but they do post some decent images. For anyone here who would like to take a look around the magazine site the link is provided below. You have to subscribe to the mag but for 12 a year it is worth it just to enter the comps for the 500 Oly gear up for grabs. I have subscribed to the mag for around two years now and will continue to do so.

http://www.olympususer.co.uk/#content

PS
I have no affiliation to the mag or site other than paying my subscription fee.

Re: Olympus Magazine

We do (Steambuff and I). I got very excited because one of my pics was shortlisted for the comp, but in the end it didn't make it into the magazine.

I forgot to enter the last one, which is a bummer as it's the sort of thing I like doing.

XP1 I've seen your photos in there... weren't you a winner or shortlisted a couple of times?)

Re: Olympus Magazine

I used to, but they kept missing issues and ended up not notifying me when my subs had ended.

Re: Olympus Magazine

Part of the problem with the website and, especially the forum - is us here! The OU forum was set up long after the e-group became established and while they seem to have a lot of registered users we have much much more activity here.

You have a few days left to enter this comp (flowers). Yes I have been printed three times and won once so I'm not doing too bad. I think the most entries in any of the comps is only 56. I am very surprised that a lot more members here don't subscribe as it is all about Oly just like this site.

I get my girls to subscribe me for Fathers day so I never have the problem of forgetting to renew.

Re: Olympus Magazine

Good evening,

Yes I subscribe and was luck to be short listed in the last competition. Did not win but I did get my photo in the magazine.
Not yet entered this one but will be over the weekend.

Like the Technian say less is better.

Enjoy the good weather

Well I thought I subscribed. The last issue I received was No 26, Autumn 2011.
When StephenL comment that they forgot to tell him about renewals, I thought I'd check my account to see if my subs have expired.

It claims;
Listed below are the most recent renewals processed by the online renewal system:
Renewal to Olympus User (24/12/2009 19:10:49)

i.e. it expired Dec 2010, but I know I renewed and I've got copies here until last Autumn

The latest available back issue is No.25 Summer 2011

Thanks for the timely reminder, then. I still haven't looked out piccies for the exhibition so I will look out for something for this one too.

Maybe it would make sense for that forum to be combined with this one, and for this one to take over promotion of the magazine.

Re: Olympus Magazine

That sounds a promising idea John...I do look in on the Olympus Magazine site occasionally, but the home page hasn't been updated in months and there is very little interaction on the forum so I tend not to stick around.

YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU GET PRINTED NOW.

Competition aside though the mag features working Olympus users and this would make a good advertisement/feature for any pro here to use should they be lucky enough to be accepted. With regards to renewals they always put a reminder in with your last issue so it is just a case of making the call and subscribing for another year. They are producing a lot of micro 4/3rd articles and no doubt the new OM-D will feature heavily in the next issue so there is plenty for all Oly users to read.

Re: Olympus Magazine

I have been a member for over two years now, I enter the competition and have had one of my photo's published also short listed twice, I find the magazine very interested and look forward to the summer issue I also think the photographs are a very high standard.

This photo of the bat was the one I had in the Magazine.

Regards John.
