Has anyone washed a BLS‑50 Lithium‑Ion Battery

My wife just has... 40 degree cycle

It looks fine and I have put it in the sun to dry it gently

Any previous experience on whether they still work will be appreciated

Regards
Andy

Re: Has anyone washed a BLS‑50 Lithium‑Ion Battery

I doubt it would have come to much harm, those batteries seem pretty robust to me, though maybe the labels might have suffered some damage! Dry it out well, then check with a meter before charging or putting it into a camera.

I imagine it may still work but, given the well documented dangers associated with Lithium batteries, if it was mine, it would go directly to the recycling bin at my local supermarket

Is keeping it, recharging and using it really worth the risk ?

I wash my own clothes (so I don't get pink singlets or missing socks etc ).

I would feel the same way as there is circuitry in those battery packs that may now have shorts across tracks etc, considering there would likely have been some power in the cells.

Re: Has anyone washed a BLS‑50 Lithium‑Ion Battery

I think it will dry thoroughly then only test. if the voltage is right, I would use it.

Suggest you put it into a dry box for a few days if there is good sunshine, let it in the sun for a few days to dry the insides (wait it works in here topics) But not sure how hot it gets in UK.
