Hi James.
That's the lens I'm looking for next but NEW prices are still descending into your used price territory ... I'll wait a bit longer.
You say the Mk1 is faster? I'm not clued up on the details : In what way?

Re: FS:40-150mm MK1 !

Yes, the mark 2 lenses are only 79.95 at currys, but they are not as well made (they have a platic mount, where as the mark 1 has a metal mount) & have a minimum f stop of 4 where as the mark 1`s are faster at f3.5. I hope this helps

Re: FS:40-150mm MK1 !

One last question James : what's that lens like on live-view focusing, for example using the LCD on my e-600.
I think its CDAF ...

Re: FS:40-150mm MK1 !

If I can interject....the Mk1 is generally thought to be the better of the two lenses, and is better built, BUT if you want quick(er) live view focussing, then you need the Mk2. I have both - the Mk1 for my E-30 where I don't often use live view, and the Mk2 for my E-P2, which only uses live view.

Obviously you can no longer buy the Mk1 new, and James' price is very fair indeed.

Lens received : lovely condition, AFs very quickly with a satisfying 'flump' of solid lens elements coming to an abrupt decision - I love it.
The wife thinks its huge, but then she always does say the right thing.

My wife thought the same thing until I replaced the 40-150 with the 50-200, which was thought to be mega-huge

Better not let either of them see my 90-250 then.

Could cause a serious re-evaluation of expectations.
