The first mirrorless medium format camera

Hasselblad announces the X1D: the first mirrorless medium format camera.

It uses a Sony 50mp CMOS sensor and is in our familiar 4:3 format.

If you want a Hasselblad or are just curious take a look at

I guess 'OM USer' and 'pault' thanked 'Invicta' "For This Useful Post" because it was an alert for them to get their orders in quickly!

I hope they voted to 'Stay In' otherwise the price will go up though!

Re: The first mirrorless medium format camera

And here's a link that shows its size relative to the competition, remarkable I would say and surely set to shake things up in the high-end 'pro' market.

Kind regards, Simon

By comparison to other Hasselblad cameras, it's a bargain at a shade over £7000.

Plus lenses. And I think although previous Hass lenses will fit it'll only work in crop mode (not sure about that).

It's going to take a while for them to release enough lenses to make it really viable for landscape photography, which means it's currently only rationally usable for portrait and studio use it seems to me. Plus posing value, of course!

Makes the A7Rii look like a right bargain, too, not forgetting the IBIS and the increasing lens choice...
