Top Gear ? New Presenters ?

Allegedly, the Hamster Hammond and James May are due to renew their contracts with the BBC for Top Gear next month (or not).

Whilst the world awaits the outcome of the Clarkson Vs Producer debacle ... from the BEEB, much is being posted about a "re birth of Top Gear".

Up and coming potential Teams include

Alan Partridge there is an online petition for the Beeb to hire him

But what about Clare Balding ? an excellent Presenters, one of speed and tremendous sporting ability herself ?

Or even Rowen Atkinson - himself a massive car collector

Even chef James Martin - who is very involved with Goodwood Fest of Speed and the Rev ?

Maybe a retired Grand Priz driver ?

and your FAV for the new Top Gear is ? and why ?

off to a mountain of ironing

Re: Top Gear ? New Presenters ?

Clare Balding (is she, if so its a clever wig) would be limited to the size of car she could drive, no offence meant, it's purely observational.
I'd go for almost anyone as long as it's not Chis Evans!

Think I'd 'prefer' to see JC to Chris Evans, but you have to understand I'm not using the 'word' too literally.

How about, 'boy's from the black stuff' Yosser - Gizza Job - Hughes?

The idea of new presenters as per Chevvie's #1, I think is a good idea.

As the viewers are the ones paying the dosh, then why not open it up to the GP to decide who THEY prefer with just one proviso - that the existing trio go under heading of None Of The Above?

Might just have the added advantage of giving us something to watch other than the upcoming 'KNOBS 7' slanging 'Match Of The Day', and the day after, and the day after that...

This way we could all have our

The current Radio Times suggests Nigel Farage, Gareth Malone or Germaine Greer, among others .

Re: Top Gear ? New Presenters ?

I think someone like Vicki Butler-Henderson would be good, adding a woman to the line up would help keep the childish behaviour of the other two in check.

It's that exact childish behaviour that brings in the viewers.

I think you're talking about the Duke of Norfolk. Now Wolf Hall was excellent!

I'd love to see some guest presenters, especially ones as good as Susie Wolff

Otto is that really true in the TV Beeb Times ???

NO WAY Germaine Greer can you imagine her interviewing Male Guests or the tirade Co presenters (who are Male) and the Production Team Males) would suffer ?

Nigel Farage will be too busy "In No. 10" and he is no petrol head ...

Gareth Malone - now this is a thoughtful suggestion - maybe he would have all the Crew singing off the same Hymn Sheet

Susie Wolff is a great lady and would increase viewing figures I believe with her beauty and brains and driving/racing ability - but maybe Hubby will not permit this

Yes definately, "Boys and their Manhood must have TOYS" Motor Cars ! sure it draws the viewers - most of whom are looking to emulate "escapades" viewed

Re: Top Gear ? New Presenters ?

Before changing presenters, I'd take JC outside and shoot him in front of his family. Pour encourager les autres, you understand...! Might not need a new presenter then.

But here's a thought for a presenter: Janet Street Porter. Or how about ...... Katie Price........Hahahaha! Even better, teamed up with Anne Widdecombe.
