Re: railway Buff

Thanks everyone......based on your info I have done some clicking and another name came up...Kalamazoo.It was a Walt Disney hand car.
I have always wondered about the word Kalamazoo ....it's also the name of an old local printers who later went on to make there own computer systems....I wonder if the name connects them in some other way.
More clicking required I think.

Thanks
Keith

Re: railway Buff

Handcarts were manufactured in the USA by the Kalamazoo Manufacturing Company in Michigan Illinois (see link below for early catalogue from the Kalamazoo Railway Supply Company). I'd surmise the handcarts got the name in the same way that Hoover became synonymous for a vacuum cleaner.

Another link to the Main Manufacturing Co. webpage. Some really fascinating stuff here!!

Very subtle but not enough. Spammers are not tolerated on this site and your ad link and account are just about to be deleted.
