Thanks, just ordered one of these.

That's also a mystery for me... current implementation is not really compelling to use both slots.

How can a buyer be sure they are getting a genuine card and not a lookalike? Is the seller at this link known to be reputable?

One of my 2000x cards failed. The other has broken plastic on the connector. I recently ordered a Sony Tough card to replace the failed one. Fantastic product. I did a short write up on the forum.

Re: Memory Card OM-D E-M1 Mark II suggestions

Iíve got several Lexar 1000x and one SanDisk 300Mb/s, and in a couple of yearsí wildlife & motorsports photography, including a lot of Pro Capture, Iíve never had to wait for a buffer to clear.

My experience with my real life usage is that 2000x arenít necessary, but that might not be true for massive High Rate burst users, or 4K video merchants.

I continue to use the Sandisk Extreme Pro 300MB/s SDHC II 32Gb card (was a bonus one from Olympus when I bought the E-M1 II in 2017). It serves me well & I have the Sandisk Extreme Pro 95MB/s SDHC I 32Gb card in Slot 2.

Can you link that Sony Tough write up you did please? EDIT: You did it while I was writing (& distracted for some time).

To be sure buy from Amazon and not from Amazon Marketplace. That link is for a Marketplace seller, GE Trading. It needs to say "Sold and fulfilled by Amazon".

I note that Lexar 1000X UHS-II 64GB cards are now below £16 on Amazon. (Not market place)

I couldn't see them at that price, but 128Gb versions of the same are £24.99 (sold and fulfilled by Amazon) so I've added a couple.
Thanks.

For the 64GB, see https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lexar-Profe...dp/B07F9TNNW1/

Of course, Amazon prices can bounce around very rapidly

Re: Memory Card OM-D E-M1 Mark II suggestions

For my usage the 128Gb ones gave better value, but for others the 64s might be better - for example, some people don't like having so many eggs in one basket.

Thanks for the tip-off, anyway! I've got a couple of long, wildlife-heavy trips coming up in quick succession and it will be good not to have to download and backup and then wipe my cards between trips.

That describes me

In fact, I'd just bought some 32GB cards at £13, when the 64GB price dropped but I find 32GB is usually sufficient and I transfer my photos to a computer or memory sticks as soon as possible.

When travelling, I use a 'Mobilite' WiFi card-reader, controlled by my phone, to transfer card contents to memory sticks and so create back-up copies.

I never reuse a card until I have ingested its contents, usually culled them, and backed up to at least two different media, preferably three. So if Iím on a long trip, especially if I'm shooting a lot (eg wildlife) and in an area of cr@ppy internet and where I donít want to carry much and especially no device bigger than an iPad, I need plenty of big cards.

A RAVPower AC750 gives secure, compact card backup plus useful other capabilities.
