Are you sure it's a 'she' and not a 'he' with long hair? I guess the horns must be for tying the helmet on - perhaps using the long hair...

Absolutely, I saw the other side. I went to click but had forgotten to advance the film and prime the shutter. Which comes back to Rule #1, be ready.

That's correct, there's never been any evidence that any of the raiders had horns on their helms.
It's also a misconception that Vikings were a people. Viking being a Scandinavian VERB - Going 'Viking' meant raiding.

Looking at some of the details of the helmet, it's sharp (though, obviously, not everything in the image is in focus this close.

I was trying to focus whilst she was walking with aperture wide and shutter speed slow. Not bad for a 50+ year old cam, and an operator also 50 plus some more.
