some recent macro shots and testing my Raynox 250

Here are some shots I would have posted on Friday but Flickr hated me.

I was trying out my Raynox 250 and this is a queen ant I think that I found in the garden it was massive. I took this using my Olympus 40-150mm f3.5-5.6 lens this lens has a minimum focus distance on 1.4 meters.

The ant with my Sigma 105 you can see where the wings were

The ant again with the kit lens at 40mm

A hover fly at 150mm on the zoom

This was with the Sigma 105 mm at 1:1 Focus with the Raynox on I have cropped it a little to straighten it mostly.

I used to have the DCR-250 - a great piece of kit.

I love "Hover Fly", really crisp shot.

Re: some recent macro shots and testing my Raynox 250

Another thumbs up from me - Empis and Fly-2 especially.

I take it these are the 105 + DCR-250.

I'm looking forward to getting my Canon adapter so I can start playing with my 100 and MP-E 65.

Only the Empis was with the 105 + raynox out of those

The MP-E-65 should be special the results I have seen from them have been amazing.

Re: some recent macro shots and testing my Raynox 250

I had a quick play but the 65 and twin light flash was blowing it out completely even on minimum, so I'm going to have to work that out, plus stuck wide open was horrid!
The 100mm fared much better and I got a great spider shot.
I've also picked up a DCR-150 and a 75-300 which I'm hoping to couple to see how that works out. Both just arrived today so no chance yet.

Re: some recent macro shots and testing my Raynox 250

Another stunning set - It amazes me how much DoF you manage to get with the 40-150 and Raynox. I struggle to get the whole bug in focus.

Sharpness is amazing, Do you think the 5 axis IS helps ?, I couldn't see the point of forking out the extra for the E-M1 over the E-M10 but now I am not so sure!

Re: some recent macro shots and testing my Raynox 250

More awesome stuff Alf, keep it up! Love the first bluebottle shot but one small observation, could you clone some more space onto the right of the shot to give the fly some room to look into?
