Thumbs up Olympus Image Space @ The Loading Bay

Olympus Image Space @ The Loading Bay is the first in a series of events designed to showcase Olympusí new flagship camera the OM-D E-M1 and to celebrate the rest of the Olympus line-up, including their incredible range of Four Thirds & Micro Four Thirds lenses.

Olympus Image Space @ The Loading Bay will also feature an exhibition of new images by photographer Gabrielle Motola - Women of Iceland. A curiosity to find out what it is, about the Icelandic mindset that makes it globally the number one place for gender equality prompted Gabrielle to travel there, to photograph the women who have helped to shape Icelandís business, education, technology and arts.

The result is an exhibition of 20 beautiful images showing the character of these women in stunning detail thanks to Gabrielleís passion for her subject and the amazing Olympus OM-D E-M5 camera.
Olympus Image Space @ The Loading Bay will be open daily from 10.00 to 19.00, Wednesday 18th to Monday 23rd September. Please note The Loading Bay will close early on Thursday 19th at 17.00.

The Olympus team will be on hand throughout the event to show visitors how to move into a new world with the perfectly engineered OM-D E-M1.

Images from Olympus Ambassadors will also be on display, including one of the first images shot on the new OM-D E-M1 by Olympus Principal Photographer Damien McGillicuddy.

In celebration of this landmark camera, on Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd, Olympus Ambassador Photographers Damian McGillicuddy and R. Cleveland Aaron will join the Olympus team to work with visitors to capture the perfect image. Damian McGillicuddy will be holding open portrait and lighting sessions working with models and visitors. R. Cleveland Aaron will work with urban and street style performers including Breakdancers, Flatland BMX, FreeRunners, Basketball and Football Freestylers to provide visitors with the perfect photography challenge!

These special free sessions will run on the hour from 11.00 to 17.00 on Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd. Visitors can simply drop into the Loading Bay gallery for their chance to get up close with models and dynamic performers and shoot them all using the amazingly fast Olympus OM-D E-M1 camera.

Damian McGillicuddy will be working at The Loading Bay from 15.00 to 17.00 Thursday 19th, 11.00 to 18.00 Friday 20th and 10.00 to 14.00 Saturday 21st. R. Re: Olympus Image Space @ The Loading Bay

This looks like a great opportunity Ian I'm sure it will be well attended. Afraid two trips to the smoke so close together isn't going to wash for me though especially after ordering an E-M1 as well. So I hope to see lots of images and posts from those who can attend.

No more places for the party, I'm afraid. I have now e-mailed everyone who contacted me.

Thanks,

Re: Olympus Image Space @ The Loading Bay

I would have loved to be there but as usual there is too much month left at the end of the money and the train fare for such a short journey is getting ridiculous.

Have fun, all who are going - I look forward to reading all about it!

Thumbs up Re: Olympus Image Space @ The Loading Bay

I went there specifically to see just how good my 14-35 f/2 SWD works on the E-M1

I'm very impressed with the results of my short tests, the focus speed being very comparable to the E-System bodies.

Couldn't resist snapping these guys:

A very enjoyable few hours.

in my case it was the 35-100 and 12-60, but the same underlying question!

I drew the same conclusion too...

Set up to control wirelessly through the S2 was easy, and worked well - when it worked. I'm not sure where the weak spot was in the connections but the software and set up was simple and effective. Also meant downloading from the camera and uploading/emailing was simple too. However, I'm not sure what the technology is so if someone can explain it I would approeciate it ie I could understand creating a bluetooth connection between 2 devices, but the only way I can see 'wifi' in this way is if the camera is connected to a wireless network and is then creating it's own virtual wifi from that ('ish/sort of thing!)

Maybe I should read the spec more carefully...
