Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

I hope that there is a happy ending to this saga. Sounds to me like an extra gesture from Oly is needed here to restore some faith.

Separately I just spotted Dave's comment above about a replacement for Focus on Imaging with an Olympus presence. That sounds like a bit of good news to me.

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

Yes many thanks for that Ian. I was totally unaware that there was going to be a successor to FoI. It sounds like it's going to be a very interesting hands on show.
One gripe though, those pop up ads are really annoying. I guess they are needed financially but boy what a pain

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

I hope that there is a decent retail presence at the Photography Show. This has been lacking at Focus since Jacobs went bust.

Maybe not on this lens, but I am sure there will be some like there was on Oly micro stuff at Focus this year. And I got my 7-14 ZD for a great price there a couple of years back.

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

Afternoon everyone,

This is all very strange as I was under the impression we had let everyone know what was going on but it may be only those chosen that were contacted.

Annoyingly, Sarah is away for two weeks and she was handling the corespondance but I will look into it with her when she is back.

Please accept my profound apologies if we have mis-handled this. The intention always was to give people the opportunity to have their work showcased on this one off installation in Oxford Street.

I know was had planned some form of presentation but there were a number of issues with the original installation which was in and then out again. That may have led to the event idea being missed.

If if gets rolled out we would be talking to all contributors about some from of reward.

As far as the event idea and using images in general, I would like to make up for that in some way so please leave it with me for now.

It sounds like I owe a few people lunch.

Thank you for this explanation - certainly we were all in the dark until you received the email from Jeremy following my chat with him in Bristol about this matter. I know that for many of us, including me that have images in the display, acknowlegement alone would probably suffice; however something else would always be nice too

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

Although not the winner, my image was one of those chosen. However, despite emails to Sarah (unanswered), I heard nothing more.

But thanks for looking into this for us

Thanks for the update Mark, I am pleased the display went ahead.

I also never received any further communication after a rather curt second request to send my high-res image after I had not responded to the first message within a couple of days; which I could not have done as I was out of the country at the time.

...and still no further news.

Mightily miffed and very disappointed with Olympus. Clearly they are good at talking the talk but, as far as following up on promises, they seem to have failed at every turn, they must really think we are stupid

Not true Mark. I was chosen and have heard nothing since I was asked for high Res versions of chosen images.

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

Right - hoping to get this resolved today.

I understand the photos were displayed for a while but are no longer in-store. I am in touch with Mark to arrange an appropriate thank you to those whose pictures were featured.
