Hi Shug and welcome to the forum. I'll keep this thread up to date as and when I receive more information from the magazine. Look forward to meeting you in June.

You just have!

Once I have more details, which I believe are due to be published in the next issue of the magazine, I'll post them here and arrange a place and time to meet. I'll also PM my mobile number to all who have expressed an interest. Looking forward to meeting you.

Just to update you all, I thought further details were due to be published in the latest issue of Advanced Photographer which was out on Thursday. Now I see those details will be included in the next issue of the magazine, due out on 6th June. I will keep you posted.

Re: 24 Hour Photo Shoot With Advanced Photographer Magazine.

I have today received the following Email from Will Cheung:-

Hi John

Time is marching on and thanks for expressing an interest in coming along to Photo 24, a day (literally) of photography in London on June 21/22 with a 6pm start.

Im in the process of finalising details of how we are going to meet up, a few contests for challenge you and some suggestions about what to shoot, so will be in touch again very soon.

Well also be posting information on www.facebook.com/DSLRMag/events <http://www.facebook.com/DSLRMag/events> .

Whether youre coming along for the whole 24 hours or for just a few hours, I look forward to meeting you on the day and please post this on the Olympus forum for me please.

Regards

Will

So it seems the planning is well underway and we should get more details soon. It should be an exciting event!

Full details should be in the next issue of the magazine, which is due out on 6th June. I will buy a copy on the day and update this thread.

I do know that it's a 6.00pm start on Friday 21st June but the location is not yet known. Of course, our particular group can also arrange a later rendezvous for those of us who may not be able to make the 6.00pm start.

I'll have a better idea once I have the full details but I also anticipate that many (if not all) may not wish to continue right through the night so it might be good to establish a meeting time and place later in the evening to say goodbyes.

I'm hoping to make a full night of it, although I'm not sure how well I will cope as I'm not as young and fit as I used to be. One benefit of no longer working is that I can have a nice lay-in on the Friday morning to store some sleep (if that is possible) but on the other hand I would rather get to London with plenty of time to do something before the official meeting so that I get the maximum value for money from the train fare.

I'll keep you posted.

Hope the night photography works out well.

If you want to do something before the event maybe checkout an exhibition in London?

I can recommend the Sebastiao Salgado exhibition at the Natural History Museum. I have been and his work is amazing.

More details at:

http://www.nhm.ac.uk/visit-us/whats-...sis/index.html

tip: pick up one of the large print guidebooks at the front door and read the details of each photo as you go around.

Also the Erwin Blumenfeld exhibition at Somerset house looks like it is worth a visit: http://www.somersethouse.org.uk/visu...menfeld-studio

Re: 24 Hour Photo Shoot With Advanced Photographer Magazine.

Many thanks for the update - I'm optimistic about being able to make this.

Isn't it carrying on for the full 24h? Are we planning anything on the Saturday continuation, because I think some people may find that more convenient?

Thanks also for the tip about the Salgado - I've actually got a ticket for this coming Tuesday (BTW I think people should book in advance, since all London art shows seem to get sold out very quickly these days).

Hi Mark,

I'm not quite sure what you mean about planning anything on the Saturday continuation.

The plan is definitely for the event to continue for 24 hours, but I am conscious that some of our members may not want or be able to be there for the whole time. Therefore I am hoping to establish several points where late arrivals can join us or we can say goodbye to early leavers. I can't be specific at this stage, until I know the full details of the event.

Re: 24 Hour Photo Shoot With Advanced Photographer Magazine.

That's fine, John. Many thanks.
I was just querying about whether there may be opportunities to join later - maybe I'd missed that in earlier posts.
