LR error message

When I import my pics from a card, usually both ORF and JPG are imported.

But not my last import.
I imported to my mac HD, with a view to export just the good ones to external drives.
Some ORFS are imported, but some not, so I am trying to import those that did not import on first try from my card again.

Then I get this message, "<NSToolTipPanel: 0x7ff9d6a09010>: An -observeValueForKeyPathfObject:change:context: message was received but not handled.
Key path: effectiveAppearance
Observed object: <FI_TTextField: 0x7ff9e6116750>
Change: {
kind = 1;
new = "<NSCompositeAppearance: 0x6000039a2b70>";
old = "<NSCompositeAppearance: 0x6000039a2b70>";
}
Context: 0x7fff862fd318'

I cannot export the file to my external drive.
Frustrating.
Any ideas?

Re: LR error message

That error message is utter gibberish to me. As a computer dunce, this is what I would try:
1. Check the files on the card. Are they readable if opened directly?
2. Quit and restart LR. I find Adobe products frequently go loopy and quitting them helps
3. restart the mac
4. Copy the files off the card into a folder on the HD and try importing them from that folder.

As an aside, I doní t like the way LR sorts files, so I always copy from the card into my preferred folder structure and import from there, getting LR to leave them where they are.

Re: LR error message

The last sentence by Mark-R2 is the way I transfer picture files. I Have had problems using the memory card reader slot on the rear of the computer and now use use a Usb reader.
