Don't Bid for This!

You can't lawfully own this in the UK.

Got any references ? - never seen anything about that in anything I have read and even if it was you could surely get a UKARA Registration fairly easily to cover you?

Amateur Photographer did an article on the subject, featuring a better-known camera gun, a few years ago. That was the Zenith Photosniper.

"Section 24A(1) of the 1968 Act also prohibits the purchase of imitation firearms by those
under the age of eighteen.

This includes:
i. air weapons and ammunition for air weapons;
ii. imitation firearms, realistic imitation firearms and deactivated firearms"

So, it looks to be lawful for an adult to own it but try telling that to the assembled armed police squad.

Re: Don't Bid for This!

http://www.ukpoliceonline.co.uk/inde...-and-replicas/

"Unless you are under 18, there is no offense in the VCR Act 2006 relating to ownership of a realistic imitation firearm. The four categories of offence are manufacturing, selling, adapting and importing. The requirements observed by retailers regarding the qualifying nature of a customer relate to the retailer's avoidance of committing an offence, not the purchaser. If a UK retailer was irresponsible enough to sell a realistic imitation fiream to "the man on the Clapham omnibus", the only offence committed is by the retailer.
If you buy from an EU supplier (or any other country) and bring the RIF in or have it posted to you, you would be committing the offense of importing the RIF unless you were a qualifying person in relation to the available defences under the VCRA 2006".

Cameras are not the issue. Function is not the issue. If it looks like a gun...

Re: Don't Bid for This!

The POINT is that owning Replica Guns or things that LOOK LIKE real guns (Realistic Imitation Firearms - "RIF") is not in itself illegal as you stated - you need to hold UKARA Status - that's how many thousands of Airsoft or Paintball club members get to carry/use their VERY REALISTIC Replica Firearms...

However, if you were to "win" this one on Ebay US, importing it would earn you free hospitality at HM pleasure.
