Grabbed a couple of hand held moon shots tonight. 50-200 plus 1.4x and x2 DTC.

Re: Hand held Moon with 50-200

if I only find time soon I will try achieve something like you. I hope 40-150 2.8 plus 1.4 can do that.

Re: Hand held Moon with 50-200

Thanks guys I did wonder how well the old 50-200 plus x1.4 would do. I actually used the x2 DTC as well for the ones I posted. To be honest though I was still a little disappointed with it I think I underexposed a bit too much and I felt it ought to be a tad sharper? Maybe I'll have a play with the raw version to see if I can improve on it. I also compared it to a similar shot someone else did hand held with a Lumix bridge camera and to be honest I marginally preferred their shot. Ark I'm sure the 40-150 pro plus 1,4 will be able to achieve something like this even with the slightly reduced reach. Although the forthcoming 300mm f4 ought to be better still. A lot more expensive though I'd guess.

Re: Hand held Moon with 50-200

Your result was a little sharper than I got with a 600mm mirror lens and also a 500mm telephoto. Both on a pro tripod. So you did well to get results as good as that.

Ok thanks guys. Maybe I was expecting too much? I'm sure I remember Huw (I think?) posting some stunners in the past.
