Sunrise and sunsets

Low cloud seems to hamper my attempts at capturing Edinburgh’s sunrises and sunsets, but there has been the occasional success.

This is a sunrise from September

October sunset over Edinburgh’s Leith Docks with Britannia’s mast in the foreground and the Forth bridges in the background

The following four were taken yesterday, when gap in the all encompassing low cloud cleared for just 7 minutes over the rooftops of the houses opposite. It was great to watch the colours change so quickly before the gap in the cloud closed again.

Sunset at 16:10hrs

Sunset at 16:11hrs

Sunset at 16:13hrs

Final glimpse 16:17hrs

Re: Sunrise and sunsets

Cloud? In Scotland? Surely not!

You've got some fantastic skies there, Chris - nice work.
