Re: Printer advice

Reference the ip4700 I have ink from 7dayshop which gives good results for prints but cannons own ink is better. I too use cannon paper as it does seem to give better results. This printer will also print to CD's if needed.

Any reason why you chose the IP3600 and not the IP4700?

Jim

Re: Printer advice

Hi Jim

Well after the advice on here and the very helpful links i started to investigate and search tech specs and so forth. The IP3600 holds a 4 1/2 star rating on Amazon to the 4 star rating of the IP4850 so i started to ask why.

The IP3600 holds a higher price on Amazon and Canon's website than the IP4850.

The IP3600 uses Fine, full photolithography inkjet nozzle engineering which looks good and might have something to do with ink usage, the IP4850 makes no mention of this technology in its own tech specs.

The IP3600 Link to canon web site ink usage looks very impressive, compared to the IP4850Link to canons site. Take a look at the huge difference in ink use when printing photographs.

hopefully all of this spec is to believed.

Re: Printer advice

My printer arrived today, and straight out of the box i have got to say that im very impressed. It came with 10 lots of ink some 6x4 paper and a usb cable. set up was ok and i had a little trouble closing the print head arm but after a few minute i had got it down. After that its plain sailing the printer basically tells you what to do and off you go.

At the moment i have printed just one 6x4 but its already better than anything i have got from Jessops, truprint etc..

The software seems to be very straight forward to use, cropping, choosing paper and adding boarders and the like.
