The Lighthouse Saga

Spent a day out at Orfordness with a long time friend and after taking the ferry over (its NT property now) had a lovely day looking around this fascinating area...i'll post some more pics later but here are three showing how the sea is slowing claiming the single and in a few years this lighthouse will be gone despite the efforts (black sheeting) to protect the single from erosion. It wasn't open today but you can still climb to the top which I would imagine would give you a fantastic view of the whole site. Do it while you still can.

Re: The Lighthouse Saga

In my haste I forgot to add this one...and still not sure that transferring these from Affinity and resizing them has done justice to the clarity I see on my screen... hey ho..

Re: The Lighthouse Saga

Nice set, Peter, that's a place I've wanted to visit for a long time but never got round to going. I love the final shot, with the distant lighthouse exaggerating the scale of the shingle beach.
