Derelict Westland Helicopter HDR

Out on my travels last saturday i visited an aircraft museum out near lasham airfield, any way it turns out the place has been shut for a while and part of the collection has now gone. Sitting forlornly at one end of the field was this Westland helicopter.

Looks like a Wessex.

I used to work as a test inspector on the engines. It had 2 1200 HP Gnome gas turbines, coupled together by a big gearbox. The engine design goes back to the mid 50s, but a 1400 HP derivative still powers the Sea King.
