Em-5

I'm seriously thinking of getting myself an Em-5,I'm kinda kicking myself as not so long ago loads were for sale on here and I should have bitten at the time,So what do we have? Probably gonna look for a grip battery grip also.On another point how does the 4/3 glass perform on it? I will be looking for m4/3 glass but have some 4/3 that I still use. Thanks for reading

Re: Em-5

I am not an expert but i heard from four third rumors that Olympus is going to bring out new models this summer but no details yet. Am hoping the new models feature phase detection which should work well with the four third lenses. Or maybe it is just a wifi upgrade to their E-PM and E-PL models . Might be worth waiting since you have 4/3 glass and in the meantime it is possible that EM5 would have depreciated in price. However a good deal is persuasive to buy immediately

Re: Em-5

Regular 43rds lens performance on the EM5 will be sluggish. Although I have never had this body, I have used my 43rds lenses on an EPL1 and with my EPL5 before I got my EM1. The EM1 is the way to go with older lenses..............

Re: Em-5

I'd suggest Sapper's in the first instance; I've an EM-5 and it has been okay with 4/3 lenses - not brill, but perfectly acceptable. Quite like the 12-50, and it's showerproof !

In the perhaps unlikely event that sapper doesn't come up with a good price, I'd suggest considering the EM-10 new, as it has some extra features over the EM-5; it DOESN'T have weathersealing.

The EM-5 is annoying in use in one respect, which is the (touch)screen disappears if you tilt it and try to touch it: it thinks your eye is moving to the eyepiece. If the tiltscreen is tilted in the EM10, the eye detector is disabled, so you can use it unhindered.

The EM10 has inbuilt flash, and an intervalometer, both of which I'd've liked.
