A Kite

This is one of my best shots today at Henley. It is reduced for the web but otherwise OOC - no crop !

Ideas for Photoshop; PaintShopPro or C1 Pro6 gratefully received.

Re: A Kite

Thats a top shot.. really good colours too!
I've often seen these when driving down the M40...never had a change to stop off anywhere to see them close-up....you've inspired me to stop sometime and have a go (not on the M40 obviously).

It looks all good from here!

I don't think there is much you need to do in Photoshop. You can take the day off

Re: A Kite

A lovely capture in this one. For a display photo, I would crop it for a portrait frame, still using 4/3's or 3:2 ratio with most coming off the left & a tad off the bottim & with a generous border size mat around it, it would look great as a wall hanging.

Re: A Kite

Well captured with nice lighting. It does look a little soft though although it is difficult to be certain with this size image. Rarely get this close to what is still a rare bird in Lincolnshire and when I do I never get a good shot.

Regards

David

Re: A Kite

There is not much to do to improve the photo. The only thing would be to "re-crop", reposition the bird towards the left of the frame, possibly adding some background in front of it. Since the background is clean this should be easy.

On a side note: I believe it is shot #2 in your series that should have been submitted here, it is the one standing out both from technical and posture point of view. Just my opinon...

Re: A Kite

Tordan, many thanks for this - I shall go back and look at No. 2 I appreciate your comment re cropping some behind and creating more in front for the bird to "fly" into

I'd be very happy with that....can't see the need to alter anything...

Re: A Kite

Yep looks great to me too. I'd just go with the cropping suggestions already made if you were going to hang it.

Re: A Kite

Hi Chevvy, I love your kites.
Went on a tour today and got some shots of our Whistling Kites. Can't wait to get home to the pc to post one to show you!
Our guide threw small pieces of pork into the river to attract the birds in. The birds went for it in a big way. They moved so fast it was a challenge, but I think I got a couple in focus

Re: A Kite

Lyn, thank You ! I have just looked to see if you posted your shots yet so I shall look again tomorrow
Last August, we had some left over Port Sausages (cooked) and the Red Kites loved those
