E-P2 sold without VF-2

an outfit in TAIPEI, Taiwan called Shueido is offering (on ebay) E-P2 (at 684 body only) without the EVF, it was my understanding that olympus was selling them only with the EVF, at least on this side of the world, so I asked them if the were actually selling the E-P2 without the viewfinder and if so were they selling the viewfinder separately. they said that they were selling it body only and were not selling the VF-2 at all. this sounds very odd to me, it would make you wonder what is going on. I could be interested in the E-P2 without the evf but only if I knew I could later pickup the viewfinder if I wanted to

I think the best answer I can offer is that for the time being there will be no UK-sourced VF-2s because it's bundled with the E-P2. But I would suppose there is a possibility that the E-P2 could be supplied with out the VF-2 in future and the VF-2 be offered as an option. Another possibility is that you could source a VF-2 as a spare part. But pricing might not be great down that route. My personal advice is that if you don't want the VF-2 now, get an E-P1, and then upgrade to an E-P2 when you are ready, or even wait long enough for subsequent models that will inevitably follow.

Re: E-P2 sold without VF-2

presumably olympus is packaging them together, are these guys opening the box and taking the VF2 out setting them aside to gouge people later on the price? or are they marketed separately in the far east?
