Blea tarn in the morning

I went to Blea tarn this morning. The conditions were much calmer than I suspected they would be based on the weather forecast.

Here are some of the shots I took

They are lovely Alf. Almost too perfect it makes me wish I'd been there to throw a stone in after you'd taken your shots to get some alternatives with slight rippling in the water. Maybe I just need some more coffee this morning!

Re: Blea tarn in the morning

I was there myself last week and took the same scenes but at the other end of the day, as the water calmed down for the night! Little Grebes were courting and calling one another continuously.

It's a wonderful spot with its sense of being on a gallery overlooking the Langdale Pikes. Yours are very lovely photos but I especially like the ones with the stones in the foreground, to add 'depth' and provide some interest in the foreground - I took several photos at exactly the same position

Lovely views of Langdale Pikes, the early bird captures the reflections!

Have some coffee as throwing stones in there while I was there may have resulted me throwing stones too
