Re: Sigma 150mm F2.8 APO Macro DG For Sale

Not for you Alf, you're far enough ahead on macro as it is without another advantage!

Re: Sigma 150mm F2.8 APO Macro DG For Sale

Real pity about the AF unreliability on the other M4/3 models - E-M10 here and not a big fan of MF when not shooting macro even with the Focus Peaking etc....

That's not what he said! Reliability is very good with the MMF-3 and the MMF-2, but not so good with the other converters. AF on the lens is not an issue!

certainly is what he said.... as far as I can see....

AF of the Sigma 150 macro lens on the E-M5 will attempt to AF (& getting there) but it's the last step that will be out of focus, so that is what I mean by not focussing properly on all models other than E-M1 that uses PD-AF.

Thanks - that's pretty much what I read into the post TBH - PD-AF required for proper AF via the MMF adapters...

Since this a "for sale" thread, I would highly recommend this lens, especially for an E-M1 user (with the MMF-2 or 3 adapter) but is also usable on other OM-D's & PENs (& Panasonic cameras) using MF. This is a great lens on Olympus DSLR's & I first used mine on my E-30 with some lovely results. It also works well as a telephoto lens for static subjects (AF not fast enough for moving subjects) like birds in trees with some lovely sharp results.
