Olympus E620 and kit for sale

I have decided to sell my Olympus E620 camera and related kit.
This comprises:
E620 body. Bought new in 2009. Little used (shutter count is 1250)
Olympus 14mm-42 mm zoom lens (3.5 to 5.6) – lens bought with the kit.
Olympus 40mm-150mm zoom lens (4 to 5.6) – lens bought with the kit.
Olympus 35mm (1:3.5) – macro. Bought new in 2012.(box)
Olympus 70mm-300mm zoom lens (4-5.6) Bought new in 2013. UV filter. (box)
Olympus Zuiko 50mm (1.8) with adaptor to use on camera. Skylight filter.
Olympus Zuiko 28 mm wide angle (2.8) with adaptor to use on camera. UV filter.
(the latter two lenses were from my old OM2 film camera which I bought new in the 1980’s – sold the body, kept the lenses)
Olympus FL-600R Flash (bought new in 2014).(box)
Remote control thingy.
As you can tell from the low shutter count the camera and kit has been little used and all is in excellent condition.
Reasons why I am selling;
a) I am getting old and lugging this lot around is not fun anymore (if it ever was fun).
b) I am getting old and not getting about much to take photographs.
c) I am getting old and because it is little used I forget how to use it. This all came to a head this week when I went on a guided one-hour tour of an historic steam pumping engine. I must have spent 45 mins of the hour changing lenses, fiddling with controls, popping on the flash, remembering how to get it to work etc – does this seem familiar? To cap it all the friend I went with used his smartphone (with video!) and took photos as good as mine but actually got to enjoy the tour.
The future? I think I need to move away from DSLR’s and need something smaller, lighter and simpler. I like the look of the Fuji X100 (S or T) rangefinder type camera but might , for 30 plus years brand loyalty, go for say the Pen E.P5 with maybe the Leica/Panasonic 25mm 1.4. If I do I may as well keep the FL-600R flash which I believe will work with that set up.
Ideally I would like to sell the whole lot as one sale. No real idea of total value although I have been keeping an eye on Ebay to put me in the right ball park.
I would rather sell to enthusiasts on here than extract the last pound out of an auction.
I propose to leave this say for a week and see what bids, if any, I get by say Easter Sunday. Failing that I will have to break it up and sell the items on here or at auction individually.
Probably best if you PM me with your bids but if anyone wants to suggest a value or comment on my decisions (mind is made up to sell but not what to buy) then all contributions will be gratefully received.
Thanks for taking the time to read.
Bryan

Re: Olympus E620 and kit for sale

Hi Bryan,

I can relate to the getting old and wanting lighter kit. My FT System is only ever used in the studio.

I use an E-P5 and 25mm f/1.4 which is an excellent walkabout camera. The 14-42 EZ can also produce very good results.

My pocket camera is the XZ-1 and I'm looking at updating it to the next version or maybe getting a TG-3

Keeping the 600 flash is a very good idea as it works with all the Olympus cameras.

Good luck with the transformation

Re: Olympus E620 and kit for sale

Thanks Graham for your comments and insight.
On reflection I think I will keep stick with Olympus and at least keep the flash. I might also keep the telephoto and macro primes and try them with an adaptor - I assume they work nearly as well and for my occasional use they will suffice. I can always sell them later on if I really don't need them. I will also keep the Zuiko lenses - if only because they feel so good to handle.
So I have pared the sale down to the E-620 body and the two original kit lenses. One of these ensembles sold recently on a well known auction site for £335 and did not seem that special. Does anyone wants to make an offer around £300? If not its going to auction next week.

Bryan

Chris Goodhead has got the XZ-2 in at £200 if that is any use to you; I bought one last month.

That's interesting Colin. I asked about it on the Oly stand at the Photography show recently and they told me it was discontinued. In fact the onlt compact they seemed to have to on show were the Stylus 1 and a little tough compact.

Re: Olympus E620 and kit for sale

Sorry - sold it on ebay along with the two kit lenses for £210. I am now the proud owner of an EP5 - still getting to grips with it but it is much easier to lug about.

Re: Olympus E620 and kit for sale

thanks for the quick reply

that was a good price on ebay !

my e-600 had a slight mishap on a short break to Mallorca and now the shutter does not work

hence the search for a replacement as I do like the compact size for travelling!
