Street musician, Covent Garden, London

I know the focus is not quite perfect on this - the product of the violinist moving around a lot and a narrow depth of field at 200mm (400mm equivalent). But I'd be interested to hear any other comments!

I love the expression on the violinists face, and the fact she is looking directly at you. A nice tight crop, yet just enough of the instrument showing to give context. Pity about the focus. And I don't know about the dead space to the right, or what you could have done about it. Maybe darkened down in pp? But overall it's full of life.

The expression is fab but the focus issue a bit offputting.

She moved around?

Your focus on her may not be perfect but her focus on you certainly was! As I recall, she was very expressive, both facially and in body language, and had a well-honed skill of using her natural feminine wiles to subtle, but almost threatening, effect.

A great expression, I have to agree - the focus isn't too bad, it just seems to be on her front hair line rather than the eyes....

Soft focus

Actually her left eye (right as viewed) is very nearly there

ISO 800 on an E-3 - pretty decent result tone and noise wise after PP in LR.

Ten years ago I'd have thanked you. Today, sadly, she's more of a woman than I could ever handle!

Re: Street musician, Covent Garden, London

In your street musician shots I would like to have seen either more headroom or otherwise cropped above the eyes to include the hand/s.

It seems that both hands might have been included above which would have balanced the composition. IMO it is to a musician's hands that critical focus belongs.
