Lights, Camera, Mushroom!

Another couple of Wrinkled Peach Images using a small, hand held, torch to illuminate the subject.

I don't know how long the life cycle of the species is however, I first found this specimen just over three weeks ago and it was a few days old then, I suspect that it's now over four weeks old and still going strong.

Thanks, as ever, for looking.

Thanks Paul.

I used the 60mm macro lens for all the recent shots of the WP, it's a great little lens.

David,

Excellent shots.

Purple stem or not purple stem?

Re: Lights, Camera, Mushroom!

It's still lovely and well caught again, thanks Dave. I prefer the first of these, the colouring of the 'shroom is quite subtle and I feel the starker background on the second doesn't suit it so well.

Thanks Harold.

The stem is actually white, the purple tinge in the second image was caused by the angle of the torchlight and the shadows I think.

Thanks John.

It does have subtle colouring, I found it interesting to experiment with light from different angles, I think the first image gives a more accurate rendition of the WP.

Thank you.

It does help that I was able to move the piece of host wood in order to get the shots, the WP had kindly appeared on a piece of dead wood/branch.
