E-M1 MkII, should the I.S. make a noise.

Is my IS working, only it doesn't make a noise.
The fist thing I noticed with my previous cameras, E-M5, E-M5II and E-M1 was that the IS made a noise, most comforting it was.
My new E-M1 MkII appears to be silent where IS is concerned.

S-IS auto is turned on, 12-40 lens fitted.

In my case the camera body is silent with a normal non stabilised lens attached. But both of my lenses with image stabilisation the 12-100mm and especially the 300mm certainly make a noise.

no idea - so I just put mine to my ear and operated the focus... and yes it makes the tiniest of noises, which I couldn't hear when the camera was in it's normal position at the eye!

Yes, I agree thereís a marked difference.

Especially when panning and with dual IS switched Ďoní (IS1), when thereís a definitive deep buzz at times and some vibration: I've tried this with both my M1ii bodies since I thought it might be a fault at first.

Iíve got the impression this is more noticeable since the latest lens and body firmware updates. Mine seem a lot quieter on AutoIS, so Iíve defaulted to this all the time now. I canít detect any obvious impact on number of panning frames in critical focus.

Should be easy enough to check, take some shots at really slow shutter speeds with and without IS turned on. Hopefully the diffrence in the number of sharp shots will confirm whether or not IS is working.
