That magnifier looks like a commercial one. Could be from a dentist's kit, but they are much the same. I have one made by a famous US manufacturer, which cost almost £60, and it only clips to the specs with a sort of modified crocodile clip! It broke a while back, and I had to make a repair piece for it.

(Perhaps they got the idea from Cuba....)

There are some on sale here that are held to a spec frame by stretchy, rubbery plastic figure-of-eight pieces. I found them, well, pretty useless. That Cuban guy has done a better job!

If it isn't there, though, you can't photograph it, can you? Is it any different to the press showing us what they want to show us to satisfy their view of things? Again, if it weren't there, the press couldn't manipualte as they do.
