14-42 msc

My son's bog standard E-PL3 lens has died.

Anyone got one gathering dust?

Re: 14-42 msc

I have one that I got for my Pen but have never used it. It doesn't zoom like my other lenses, is that the one that you want?

It does zoom, but not in the same way as other zooms. With other zooms, the lens is rotated to zoom, with the one I have, it cannot be rotated, but it seems it has a motor so when the "zoom ring" is moved, the lens zooms out or in.

Re: 14-42 msc

Dave
I never really thought about it.
What you are saying is (I think?) you alter zoom via a motor rather that pure mechanics.

trouble is I have now lent my identical lens to my son so can't play with mine to confirm

Do you want to PM me with a price?

I just missed one at LCE last week

I had an offer from a forum member but he had another look at his lens and decided it might have fungus so declined to sell it to me : that sort of honesty is why I would prefer to buy here

Re: 14-42 msc

I have jut looked it has a zoom ring that appears to be what we would both consider to be normal.

However if what you have is 14-42 ish micro four thirds "kit (ie cheap) lens", I am interested.

Anyone else out there who can cast light on our confusion?
Would be interesting to know just for the sake of it.
