14-54mm Mk I and Mk II?

Any experiences with both versions of this lense? Is the MkII better than the MkI (image quality-wise), or is it only the suitability for Live View in which they are different? Working with an E-620 body...

Re: 14-54mm Mk I and Mk II?

The circular aperture of the Mk2 lens should in theory produce smoother Bokeh than the older Mk1 (which has the older septagonal shaped aperture design) but I've yet to come across any comparison images which actually show any significant differences between them. Other than that I believe that the optics are otherwise identical between the two and so image quality should also be identical

Re: 14-54mm Mk I and Mk II?

Well, I managed to sell my Mk I (1,5 yrs old) and received the MkII today. And am perfectly happy with that. It has the same sharpness or better, and the Mk II is MUCH faster with focussing and making the image when used in Live View (on my E-620). Also, if you use art filters, the effects already show on the live view screen before making the picture, which the MkI didn't do.
