12-60 lens at LCE

What has happened to secondhand prices

Re: 12-60 lens at LCE

Didn't see the EM-1 but did see a Pany GH3+grip for £749.99!

It has been well publicized that camera sales across the board have fallen this year with DSLR's taking the greatest hit, CSC's have also fallen so I am not surprised to see used prices falling.

The new price for EM-1 seems pretty stable still at £1299 body only and if as was stated demand still outstrips supply then I do not see it falling for a while.

Re: 12-60 lens at LCE

I think the 12-60 used prices are taking a hit due to the new 12-40, which is a very good value when you buy as a kit with the E-M1. While the range is not as good, the lens is f/2.8 @ 40mm, while the 12-60 was f/3.7

Re: 12-60 lens at LCE

Ed, the 12-60 is f2.8-4.0, which means that it's only f2.8 at 12mm. By the time it's zoomed to 60mm it's f4.0. Therefore at 40mm it's about f3.7.

The 12-40 is a constant f2.8.

Re: 12-60 lens at LCE

i was tempted to part exchange my EM-5 to fund an upgrade to EM1 but they offered me something like £200 for camera + 12-50mm with box etc.
Needless to say, im still shooting with my EM-5

True; my mistake I read it as starting at 3.7f, slaps wrist goes and stands in corner.

Don't blame you. I still have and use my E-M5 - with the 17mm pancake it's a fine pocket camera!

I had the same experience. Until the price falls (or second hand ones are more readily available), I don't see me upgrading from my E-M5.

Re: 12-60 lens at LCE

Unless you own or want to buy 4/3 glass, I really don't see the point of upgrading from an E-M5 to an E-M1. It doesn't seem like much of an upgrade at all.

Would rather spend the money on more lenses and wait for the next sensor generation for a real upgrade.
