Powerful Sunrise

More from my first outing with the EM-1. Sorry for so many of the same subject but I just couldn't pick. Again just compressed jpg shots with various amount of cropping and some occasional straightening.

Re: Powerful Sunrise

Really nice set. Number three for me. Take out that pesky pylon which is peeking out between the towers and you have super image.

Re: Powerful Sunrise

Great set Phill, you can't beat early morning sunrises and mist for atmospheric images and you have handled them superbly.

A shame the camera is going to get all the praise and not the skill and dedication of the photographer.

Re: Powerful Sunrise

Hi Phill,

Glad you are please with the new one.

Enjoying viewing your shots keep them coming.

On a slightly different note my trusty E510 came out on Saturday a low key wedding so I had the E5 and my son temporary wedding planner played with the E510. Still does what it states on the tin.

Re: Powerful Sunrise

Phill, you've got some cracking photos in this set. Great stuff as Paul said the camera will get the praise but I say 90% credit to you the Photographer because you knew what you wanted to achieve with the scene presented to you and 10% credit to the camera for delivering the results.

Thanks for sharing these.

Tom

Re: Powerful Sunrise

Thanks guys not sure it had quite that much to do with me, after all to ease the learning curve I did use the sunset scene mode

Hec I know what you mean about that pylon.

Ian my E510 will be able to have a well earned rest but will still get outings now and again, as you said they still take great shots.

Dave feel free to crop away if you want.

Re: Powerful Sunrise

Nice work Phil and by using the sunset scene mode I presume you got what you wanted from the camera which is important when learning to use a new tool.

I agree with Hec about that pylon between the towers.

Re: Powerful Sunrise

Superb set of images Phill. Truly inspirational, I'm not really a morning person though so I might struggle on the motivational front.

The colours and subject choice really work well.

Re: Powerful Sunrise

Thanks Alf, yes the scene mode was the easy way to get the images and learn by seeing how the camera did it. I've done it before on my E510 but never really been able to better the camera settings with my own. Thought I'd use it as a starting point with the EM-1.
Tim thanks, in this case the new toy was motivation enough although I didn't get to the spot I'd originally planned to use to get the sunrise images.

Re: Powerful Sunrise

I like them all Phil but for clean composition the third is outstanding.
