Snowdrop Bank.

I noticed on Saturday that my favourite Snowdrop site which I call "Snowdrop Bank" had suddenly burst into life. Two days previously there weren't even any leaves showing!
This morning I took advantage of the rare bit of sunshine we had to get some shots.

It's a bit of a hazardous location as you can see. A 45 degree bank alongside a narrow road with a blind bend at the bottom.

Here's the view down among the flowers.

And closer.

Of course there's always a few that don't want to join the crowd.

No flowers were trampled in the taking of these pictures.

Thanks for looking.

How amazing Peter, these I've never seen. I like the close-up one especially.

Re: Snowdrop Bank.

How very gorgeous Peter.
Do they open any more than that? They all seem to be at the same stage.
My miserable display of 4 bulbs in the garden open to show green anthers and are more bell-shaped, but could be quite a different snowdrop.

Just Googled Peter. No wonder there is confusion!

Still not sure what mine are, but wish I had them in profusion like your photo.

Re: Snowdrop Bank.

What a marvellous spot! That 3rd shot is excellent, I often try that kind of close up of a bank of flowers with the colour receding in the BG, and just as often fail!

Re: Snowdrop Bank.

Just noticed as I walked past today that my favorite Snowdrop site has started to appear, then i get home to see these beauties. Spring must be just around the corner?? Surely?? Snowing outside again ? Nah! Must be my eyes

Re: Snowdrop Bank.

Many thanks for your kind comments Mark, Lyn, Benedict, John, Alf and Imageryone.

I missed out on getting shots of this bank last year so determined not to miss it this time. Got lucky with the one day that had some sunshine. Back to cold, wind, rain and sleet today.

Regards.

Great shots of these flowers amazed they are left undisturbed.

A cheery sight in a grey and dull period.

This site looks familiar somehow. Where is it? Looks just like a similar bank I go past sometimes.

Thanks Hec.
It's Birch Park, between the farm and the lake.

Re: Snowdrop Bank.

Ahh - thought so. In which case you took your life in your hands wandering about there. A dodgy stretch of road.

Indeed it is.I spent more time looking out for traffic and avoiding falling off the bank than I did taking photos.

Regards.

Re: Snowdrop Bank.

That certainly is a great display and shows that spring is just around the corner.
