Pixel Bender PS Plugin

Hi Everyone

I thought I'd share with you a little plugin I have come across called Pixel Bender, its free and you'll find it here http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/pixelbenderplugin/

Its an ongoing development of different styles, but I love the oilpaint setting, which I think can add some nice effects to portraits and wedding photos, heres an example on one of my photos, let me know what you think

Re: Pixel Bender PS Plugin

I'm sure it has its uses, but not for that particular type of photography.

I'm sure the bride wouldn't be best pleased with that! She looks like a wrinkled old hag!

If that was my wedding photo, I'd be gunning for the photographer!

Ha ha your right now I looked again its not as smooth as it should be, pushing the strength of the effect further would smooth the skin, I've done this effect for a few clients and all have been pleased and ordered canvas prints of them, but they was smoother

Re: Pixel Bender PS Plugin

I have to agree with Andy on the wrinkly look - not flattering at all IMO!

Re: Pixel Bender PS Plugin

Cheers Dave, yeah I messed up on the first one as I had the settings set for a high res pic and not 800px wide, dont you think the new photo is better, or should I hang up my pixel bending gloves

Re: Pixel Bender PS Plugin

I think it would be worth using layers and blending only the background and leaving the subject/main focus untouched.

Re: Pixel Bender PS Plugin

When I look at the first picture, it reminds me of Freddie Kruger in Nightmare on Elm Street The second picture the people look alot better, BUT the church is so wonky, it looks like it is falling down!

Re: Pixel Bender PS Plugin

Ok I see, well another example of a style that can get into your head as good and then when you show it to others you find out the true result, must be because I looked at the style so much I thought it was great

Cheers for the comments, with so much negative feedback I wont risk offering this as a style anymore I must have been just pure lucky with the clients that did like it

I did think I found the next cool style, but hey ho, moving forward

Edit Cheers e-3, but as you can see from the 2 pics I like to tilt the camera
