FOR SALE: 14-54 mkII

As I have now heard back from another member that he has sourced a 14-54mkII I have decided I shall offer my 14-54mkII on the open forum.

I bought it off "Snaarman" a few months ago to use with my em-1 and can confirm that the auto focus is quick and accurate on that camera. There is only one reason for my decision to offer it for sale so soon after purchasing it ……. I was/am so impressed with the AF performance when used with the em-1 it became the catalyst for my rapid re-aquasition of 4/3 SHG optics, the first being the 14-35 F2.0.

Now that I also have the 50mm F2.0 and 35-100 F2.0 to team up with the 14-35 F2.0 the 14-54 is really surplus to requirements. I paid £245.00 plus postage and in the spirit of this forum I offer it for sale at exactly that price, with postage being £10.00 maximum.

The lens is in very good condition having been looked after by not just me but also Pete ( Snaarman ) its previous owner. The lens will be sold with everything that it came with when I purchased it, namely:-

Box, papers, lenshood, Olympus rear cap, "Hamma" replacement front cap.

There is however no lens pouch.

The attached images will hopefully be a good guide to the condition of the lens. Payment to be made by way of bank transfer.

Regards, Simon

Re: FOR SALE: 14-54 mkII

Hmmm, ….. looks like it needs to go to Ffordes then, they have had one listed for less than a week and it just sold for £349.00

Ah well, any takers? last chance, a genuinely great buy at £199.00

Re: FOR SALE: 14-54 mkII

Hi there Sosen13!

This is the later 14-54mm so has been designed to work with contrast AF (LiveView on 4/3 cameras) so should work ok with your e-m5. It is a great price and the only thing stopping me buying it is that I already have one! You can ask other members of the forum for their experiences of using it on an E-M5 as I haven't got one to try it on, but it is supposed to be usable.

Cheers,

Ralph.

You are quite right Ralph, I forgot to mention this. As it was designed to work with "Contrast AF" it does indeed focus quick and accurately on the e-m5, at least that is what I found when I had an e-m5. In fact I would say it performed better on the e-m5 than when used on the e-m1.

Re: FOR SALE: 14-54 mkII

The mkII does indeed focus reasonably fast on the EM5, approx 0.5s to 1s tops if asked to put a figure on it. Optically it is a brilliant lens, I paid £300 for mine so £200 is a snip.

The 14-54 II lens works quite nicely on the E-M5, in fact better (than the E-M1) in low light (as I have both E-M5 & E-M1 with that lens). That would have to be a great buy at that price.

Indeed Ross,

I should send it to Ffordes "now" because even after the deduction of commission I will achieve more than what I am asking here, however I am prepared to give it a few more days for someone to get a "screaming bargain" as I'm that sort of guy

So …. last few days at £199.00…..anyone ?

Simon
