It's a grey area, Jim.

"Apologise vs. apologize - grammarist.com/spelling/apologise-apologize/

Apologize is the preferred spelling in American and Canadian English, and apologise is preferred in varieties of English from outside North America. I was just being traditional.

The great thing about the English language is that it is flexible and one sise (size?) doesn't fit all.

There's lots of is it s or z words. I usually type s and auto correct changes it to a z on my tablet and phone. Still not as bad as tire, donut or plow. Or chips (crisps) unless they're on a plate with fish when they're now chips rather fries.
