False False Widow

This is apparently the most commonly misidentified spider for being a False Widow because of its cream body band. This is in fact a Missing Sector Orb Weaver. It has quite happily been living on our kitchen ceiling by the smoke alarm for a couple of weeks now.

Re: False False Widow

On the WAB website someone posted this on a False Widow spider thread - I thought it was rather good:

"I've been left with severe pain and swelling after a close encounter with one of those false widows.
Turned out her husband was still alive."

Re: False False Widow

Nice one Tim, he wouldn't last a minute in our house never mind a whole 2 weeks. I would be under orders to dispatch him to the great outdoors!
Ever wondered what happens the dark when the light is switched on?
