Film Simulation?

Any software out there that I can use to replicate the colours and tones of some of our much loved films?

Plugins for Paint Shop Pro would be great but I guess I'm in a very small minority in using it instead of photoshop or lightroom!

Re: Film Simulation?

Since PSP 8 it has supported plugins and many of the Photoshop plugins work just fine

I tried a few, but I'm not much into effects

the following link is one I saved some time ago that may be useful

http://www.graphicxtras.com/products...hopplugins.htm

Andy

Re: Film Simulation?

Just found another old link

http://www.alienskin.com/

I played with Exposure2 a bit I see 3 is now out and works with PSP X3

See there are people out there who like PSP - It still has a much better UI than Photoshop even in CS5 because it's so much more helpful and there are times when I can do the job in 1/2 the time just because of that so I still use it (X2) occasionally.

Andy

Re: Film Simulation?

I can't speak for PSP (as you predicted..) but this guy has done some interesting curves that you can import into Photoshop...

http://www.prime-junta.net/pont/How_...and_films.html

(Knowing how good PSP is, it is possible it will use the Photoshop curves files directly..)

In CS3 I use it with this nice little plug in

http://photoshop.pluginsworld.com/pl...martcurve.html

.... and here is one I velvia'd earlier

I figure this has to be more emotion than science unless someone rigged up an example DSLR and a film camera side by side then analysed the results to get the curves...

Pete

PS.

With tongue firmly in cheek: Here is a simulation of 30 year old Ektachrome, for those that remember...

Sorry, but I can't find a "Thumbprint and Hair" plugin for CS3.. let me know if one exists :-)
