Viewer 2

I have seen comments of being able to apply art filters to a shot that the camera does not have.

I find it only offers the same as the camera for my XZ-1 and E-620 so I cant add dramatic to tone to my E-620 shots but cant to the XZ-1

Am I stuck with this option?

Re: Viewer 2

Alf, I think you have two "cants" and are missing one "can"

It may help you to know that Corel are offering PaintShop Pro X5 Ultimate for 79.00 online download or 30 day trial WHICH INCLUDES Nik Photo FX - I think its incredible value

Re: Viewer 2

I believe Chevvy was trying to point out that due to (presumably) a typo it's not clear from your original post which camera it works for and which it doesn't.

Since the Art Filters effects can only be applied to raw images I presume you are using raw from both cameras. If so it must be that Viewer is set up to recognise the camera type and only provide the same Art Filters available in-camera.

Regards.

I believe this is so - as Art Filters are avail for E-5 Orf not E-1 Ord files

Hence I suggested Corel as Nik FX are inc. at 79.00

Smile Re: Viewer 2

Hi, To get ALL the Art Filters you will need to update your Viewer 2 - that way you will get the extra Art Filters that are not on the XZ-1. You need to have shot in RAW to be able to choose the different Art Filters. And it only works for the cameras that have the capacity to take Art Filters.

Re: Viewer 2

E620 & E30 RAW don't get anymore Art Filters than that available on the camera (but those can be applied to their RAW files afterwards), but some later cameras are able to use some extra Art Filters not in their camera, but not necessarily all. E.g. the E-M5 can have WaterColour applied to the RAW & that isn't in the camera, also extra Effects (or multiple) is also possible in Olympus Viewer 2 version 1.42

The E620 & E30 were the models with a more basic introduction to using Art Filters & it would have been nice to extend their usability in Oly Viewer 2, but then we might not have updated our cameras as quickly if they did that, yeah, right! NOT!

I updated my camera for other reasons (but it was still nice to get those extra Art Filters ).

Re: Viewer 2

Ross
Thanks for that. I was suspecting something like that as I have the latest version of Viewer 2 and XZ-1 has many more options than my E-620.

At least now I know.
