Re: From the Peak District in Staffordshire today

The Staffordshire side of the Peak District is often neglected, you've shown it off nicely Chris. The Roaches and Ramshaw Rocks are wonderful rocks in my book. Used to play round there on the occasional Sunday trip out as a kid. The bilberries we used to collect made a brilliant free pie .

The Roaches are on my 'to do' camping list. I particularly want to see Lud's Church.

I’ve walked over The Roaches a few times but never on Ramshaw Rocks. Yesterday’s trip has spurred me on to going for a ramble along Ramshaw.

Re: From the Peak District in Staffordshire today

I've only been to Lud's church as a lad Jim never to take photographs. It's quite a challenge I believe, very dark and contrasty. I've seen some spectacular shots and some pretty awful ones too. Look forward to seeing the images from your trip.

Re: From the Peak District in Staffordshire today

Absolutely gorgeous shots. Guessing these were tripod and a wide angle pro lens of some kind?

I visited The Roaches as an undergrad with Warwick University Mountaineering Club for a rock climbing visit, but the snow was so deep we resorted to snowballing and building snow-women (two of our female members started the anatomically curvy snow figures) and also caught sight of the wallabies (and saw lots of their tracks). I think the wallabies are no longer there?

Thanks Rob.
These were all taken hand-held using an E-M1 mkii and the 12-100 Pro at ~24mm.

Didn't spot any snow-women on this trip

What about wallabies?

this article (if it's genuine) suggests they are still around.

Rob,
I've not seen any wallabies during my walks on The Roaches over the past 10 years.
