Re: iPad

Apparently so. Couldn't care less myself - just another over-hyped and over-priced piece of tat to seperate the gullible from their money.

Re: iPad

A large iPhone to be honest.
No multi tasking. No USB. No Flash.

I'll stick with my Netbook for holiday/travel use, with HDD enough to drop all my pictures when I'm back in Hotels e.t.c. Surfing on the sofa in between TV shows and be able to do more than 1 thing at the same time!

Some of the concept is no doubt cool and 'rad' but not enough to warrant it beyond the iPhone. However, with Apple bringing forth stuff like this, I hope more manufacturers can see the plus side (i.e. potential market) to making a slate/tablet and bring out better ones. A slate has it's use but packaged as a large iPhone isn't the way forward.

Edit: Here's a tongue in cheek version of Hitler's response to the iPad. Pretty much summed it up.

Re: iPad

Hmm. I have an odd view of Apple. I don't have any of their stuff, I don't plan to buy any of their stuff and I get strangely irritated when an Applite tries to convert me.

However.

Every time, and I mean every time I pick up an Apple product I am so impressed by just how nice it feels :-)

But does it take good photos with low noise?

Re: iPad

I'm a tablet user - I use a year and a half old HP tx2130ea. It's a 12.1 inch screen laptop where the screen can be flipped over and used as a tablet. It has Wacom pen (with basic pressure sensitivity) support as well as finger/stylus touch sensitivity. It's not multi-touch, but the later tx2 versions are although they no longer have the Wacom support. At CES a couple of weeks back HP announced the replacemt for the tx range, called 'tm' - these use MacBook style aluminium construction and replace AMD processors with Intel. And Wacom screens are back. To me, these are much more interesting than an over-size iPhone!
